Verification & Screening Policy
Last updated: March 2026 | Version 1.0
1. Overview
SupportPath takes the safety and trustworthiness of our directory seriously. This policy outlines the verification and screening measures we apply to providers and support workers who list their services on SupportPath.
Important: SupportPath is a directory and listing service. We display verification status based on information provided to us by providers. We do not employ, supervise or manage support workers. Families should always conduct their own due diligence before engaging a provider.
2. What We Verify
When a provider or worker creates a profile on SupportPath, we may verify the following:
For NDIS Providers:
- NDIS Registration Number: Cross-referenced against the publicly available NDIS Provider Register maintained by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission;
- ABN: Verified against the Australian Business Register;
- Business name and trading name.
For Independent Support Workers:
- Identity: Name and contact details;
- Working With Children Check (WWCC): Required for workers providing services to children under 18;
- National Police Check: Encouraged for all workers, required for certain trust levels;
- NDIS Worker Screening Check: Where applicable;
- Qualifications and certifications: As declared by the worker (e.g., First Aid, manual handling).
3. Verification Badges
Providers on SupportPath may display the following badges on their profile:
SupportPath Verified
The provider has claimed their profile and their details have been verified by SupportPath.
WWCC Verified
The worker has provided a current Working With Children Check number.
Trust Level (Bronze / Silver / Gold)
Based on a combination of profile completeness, verified checks, and review ratings.
4. What We Do Not Verify
SupportPath does not independently verify:
- The quality or suitability of services provided by any provider or worker;
- Individual qualifications, degrees or certifications (unless specifically stated);
- Insurance coverage held by providers;
- The accuracy of testimonials, reviews or claims made by providers on their profiles;
- Whether a provider is the right fit for your specific needs.
Displaying a provider on SupportPath does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation or guarantee of any kind.
5. Provider Obligations
All providers and workers listed on SupportPath must:
- Provide accurate and truthful information in their profile;
- Maintain current and valid checks, registrations and qualifications;
- Notify SupportPath immediately if any check is revoked, suspended or expires;
- Notify SupportPath immediately if they are charged with or convicted of a criminal offence;
- Renew Police Checks at least every 3 years (or as required by their state/territory).
6. Family Responsibilities
While SupportPath provides verification tools to help families make informed decisions, we strongly recommend that families:
- Conduct a meet & greet before engaging any new provider or worker;
- Request to see original copies of Police Checks and WWCC cards;
- Check the NDIS Provider Register directly for registered providers;
- Contact references where available;
- Trust their instincts — if something doesn't feel right, keep looking.
7. Removal and Suspension
SupportPath may suspend or remove a provider or worker from SupportPath if:
- Their NDIS registration is revoked or lapses;
- Their WWCC or Police Check is revoked, refused or expires without renewal;
- They provide false or misleading information;
- A credible safety concern or complaint is raised;
- They fail to comply with our Code of Conduct or Terms of Service.
